“Tumutumu” sticker

The hike to the top of Tumutumu in Ofu is one of the most rewarding views in all of American Samoa. From the top of this national park trail (1,611 feet elevation), you can see all of the Manu’a islands — Ofu, Olosega, and Ta’u — and if you’re not too scared of heights and standing at a safe distance, you can look down and see the steep drop off all the way to the azure To’aga lagoon that stretches out to the reef and beyond the horizon. It’s a challenging adventure but it’s definitely worth the experience. The “Tumutumu” sticker was inspired by a photo I took the reminded me of the vintage national park posters from the early 1900s.
