Description
The humphead wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus), or “Malakea” in Samoan, is my fiancé’s favorite local fish. It is a beautiful tropical reef fish that can grow up to six feet long, weigh up to 400 pounds, and has a life span of up to 30 years. It is currently endangered, and protected locally and worldwide by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). I painted this vibrant malakea with watercolors originally and digitally re-created the painting to create this sticker.
