it just dawned on me
It’s 11pm. I’ve been editing photos for the past 5 hours. And my eyelids are fighting sleep.
I used to be so good at staying up late and working through the night. Not anymore. I just want to catch zZz’s all day and night long.

just a random-nothing-super-special photo of my room window sill, except I kinda love everything on there so it’s pretty special

Ooh mama, I love me a good wood cutting board… got this pretty large bamboo board for 10 bucks and it’s got a handle! I’ve been doubling it as a lap desk and a serving tray. Real life example: i’m currently using it to edit photos in bed so I don’t fry my ovaries, but earlier this evening I served Ian soup and crackers for dinner on this thing because poor boy is really sick.

Scenes from the 2019 AS Flag Day Parade | PART 2
Photo journal of scenes from the American Samoa Flag Day parade on April 17, 2019 at the Tafuna Veteran’s Memorial Stadium – Part 2.
Photos by me and/or Ian from the grandstand using a cheap old telephoto lens I’ve had for over 8 years. I actually forgot it’s kind of broken (reads as error and shuts my camera off when fully extended to 300mm and autofocus doesn’t work anymore), but luckily it worked out and we got this softer old school look.

I’ll post more photos from Leone, Tafuna, and Samoana’s performances in Part 2 later.

some snaps Ian took on the day I got my new camera (!)

Away from desk
A little change of scenery this week. I spent the last three days traveling from American Samoa to Virginia, with a quick stop in Arizona for an overnight layover with my sister and her family, and I got to see my bestie for a hottt second. The conference I’m here for starts tomorrow and I should probably catch some zzz’s soon so I can get over this jet lag.

Love you bubby
