Fogama’a iPhone Pics

Jan 19, 2021Lifestyle, Photo Diaries

More iPhone pics from yesterday’s hike to Fogama’a with friends.

Ian and I woke up a bit late – around 9am, and saw that Sabrina had messaged a group of us about a beach day. We hadn’t decided if we were going to join until we fully woke up and got out of bed. It was a gorgeous day out – why not?

We had less than an hour to get out of bed, eat a quick breakfast that Ian prepped (egg, cheese, and avo taco!), pack our day bags, and head over to Joe and Sabrina’s house to catch a ride to Vaitogi.

The hike was nice and easy on the way down. It was a really hot day, but we had short reprieves from the breeze rustling through the trees. We met up with a couple of other friends, Gustin, Guy, and Guy’s pup Povi, down at the beach. There was some swell, and the waves were breaking inside the cove. We settled in the shade — meanwhile Ian snorkeled out past the reef and climbed up the cliff with a gaggle of seabirds all around —and we spent the rest of the afternoon wading in the calm shallows, laughing and debating about random topics. We hadn’t hung out with this group of friends in a while, so it was really nice to hang out altogether on a little adventure. The hike back up is always a bit dreadful, but we took lots of little breaks and I felt good and strong. Next weekend, if the weather permits, we’ll hike to the cove next to this one!

See the little adventure reel I put together here.
